SPECIAL NEEDS ANIMAL CARE
Our Mission: Every Life Matters, Every Soul Deserves Care
At Special Needs Animal Care, our mission is rooted in love, compassion, and a commitment to the most vulnerable members of the animal kingdom. We believe that every animal—regardless of medical condition, physical limitation, or emotional trauma—deserves a life filled with dignity, comfort, and joy. We are not just a shelter. We are a sanctuary. A place of healing. A place of hope.
Located at 10709 Carrol Lane, Northglenn, CO 80233, we have built a home where animals with special needs are not overlooked—they are celebrated. Our facility is a safe haven for those who have been abandoned, abused, or deemed “unadoptable” due to their health or behavioral challenges. Here, they are met with gentle hands, open hearts, and unwavering care.

Our Mission, Vision & Values
Our Mission
At SPECIAL NEEDS ANIMAL CARE, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide lifelong care to animals living with physical, neurological, and emotional disabilities. These animals are often the first to be euthanized or overlooked in shelters—yet they are the most in need of love, patience, and understanding.
We dedicate our work to changing their stories. From the blind kitten abandoned in a parking lot to the senior dog with arthritis left behind at a shelter, we step in when others walk away. We provide them with the veterinary attention they need, the emotional support they crave, and a safe, loving environment where they can thrive—whether in our sanctuary or in forever homes specially suited for their needs.
Through community education, rescue outreach, and healing-centered care, we strive to create a world where no animal is defined by their limitations—but by their ability to love, survive, and inspire.

Our Core Values
Compassion First
We lead with empathy—for animals, their stories, and their individual needs. Every life matters.
Inclusivity
We care for animals of all abilities, breeds, backgrounds, and medical conditions—without exception.
Integrity & Advocacy
We stand up for the voiceless and operate with transparency, honesty, and ethical care in everything we do.
Lifelong Commitment
Special needs animals often require a lifetime of support—and we never walk away.
Education & Awareness
We work to change hearts and minds by raising awareness about the value and potential of special needs animals.

Why We Exist
Too often, animals with special needs are the first to be euthanized in overcrowded shelters or are passed over in adoption events. Medical conditions, physical disabilities, neurological disorders, and behavioral trauma create barriers that many are unable or unwilling to navigate. That’s where we step in.
Rescue
We take in animals from shelters, streets, and neglectful situations where their unique needs cannot be met.
Rehabilitation
Each animal receives personalized medical attention, therapy, and emotional healing tailored to their condition.
Adoption & Awareness
When possible, we match animals with compassionate families who are equipped to care for their needs, while also educating the public about the beauty of adopting differently-abled pets.
A Mission of Compassion and Action
Our work is powered by the belief that love can heal, and with the right care, animals once considered “broken” can live full and joyful lives. We are advocates, caretakers, and guardians, standing in defense of those who cannot speak for themselves.
